There are certain places that I've played over the years that have a special place in my memory. The Bitter End in Manhattan comes to mind with it's rich musical history, having been home to many of my musical heroes from Dylan and Guthrie to Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt and countless others. The Bluebird, of course. And now Tootsies. When I came to Nashville on a family vacation as a kid, I remember my parents taking us to Roberts Western Wear on Broadway to listen to the bands playing the Country music. I never could have imagined that twenty (cough) years later I'd be singing my own country songs right next door and in the shadow of the Ryman Auditorium. I could have sworn I saw Hank Williams and Patsy Cline slip in the back door for a beer during my set. Thanks to John Russell for graciously sharing the stage and for letting me borrow his band the Road Kill Choir for a few numbers. I had a blast!!
